Thought I'd let you all know that I am alive, if not really updating lj, returning phone calls, or sending emails. It's not that I don't love you all - I've been trying to both work full-time and fight off a cold that turned into bronchitis, so I haven't done anything but work and sleep for the last three weeks.

Two or three weeks ago I played with Emma and James for the last time and started a new job as a temp at my dad's company (a radio manufacturer).  In exciting news, it's in my field - redesigning some of their software to accommodate a new feature that's been added to one of the radios - and pays 4-5 times as much as babysitting did.  Unfortunately ( Read more... )

I just watched the final episode of Stargate and almost cried at the credits.  Ten years on the air, and now there's no more.

Accomplishing things on my own when I'm in a strange city always makes me feel so competent, no matter how small the achievement may be.  Take that, life!  I may not have a job, a five-year plan, or a sense of purpose, but I can arrange a shuttle ride from my sister's apartment to the Detroit airport, so, so ... um ... take that!
